3D model description
Explore the intricacies of Soviet engineering with this highly detailed and fully functional 3D model of a Soviet-era tractor with a backhoe. Designed for enthusiasts and hobbyists alike, this model showcases several mechanical functions including:
- Front Wheel Ackermann Steering: Experience the precision of the Ackermann steering geometry.
- Functional Doors: Both doors can be opened and closed for added realism.
- Full Functionality of Backhoe: The backhoe can be fully manipulated, providing a hands-on understanding of its mechanics.
- Rear Stabilizer Function: Engage the rear stabilizers to see how these crucial components work.
- Front Scraper Function: Utilize the front scraper to lift up and lock.
This model features self-locking joints for most parts, along with press-fit pins and bolts, ensuring a sturdy and reliable build. Additionally, it can be assembled in a variety of color schemes to suit your personal preference or match historical accuracy. For added realism, the model incorporates the option to use TPU filament for hydraulic and fuel lines.
To assist with the assembly and showcase the functionalities, detailed GIFs are provided, making the process smooth and enjoyable. Dive into this comprehensive project and bring a piece of history to life with this intricate and educational model.

There are three ways to print this.
- As single piece:- Please download STL file but there wont be any movements.
- Multiple Pieces :- Download 3mf file with Full_dismantled.3mf.BEST QUALITY OUTPUT. Please use the 3mf file for assembly also. CHECK EASE OF PRINTING TITLE BELOW
- Combined:- You may use any 3D viewer software like 3D builder in windows to merge components according to your printer and filaments. The sky is the limit for this. You may find a sample file ending with combined.3mf.
- This model contains parts of 5 colors - YELLOW, BLACK, RED, GREY & WHITE. I have separated these into different plates according to color and in the optimum print position. Please download and extract the file “Print Plates According to Colour.zip” to make use of them. These plates can be opened in any slicer and printed according to your print profiles. Check the names of the files for the color to print with.
- The 8th to 12th Plates can be printed with filament change for the brand names on the top, if you choose so.
- You can also download the print profile for Orca Slicer. File name :- Yellow_Backhoe_Tractor_Profile.3mf
This is done in 5 steps. Please follow the steps.

The design allows use of TPU filament as hydraulic and fuel lines. Since it may be difficult to stick TPU filament to PLA, I recommend melting the ends of TPU filament and inserting into the holes as shown in the GIF below. Please make sure there is adequate slack in the lines.
