What time does badging open at Salt Lake City Airport? ›

Monday — Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TSA's goal is to provide you with a response within 60 days of receiving the information you provided at enrollment. This may take longer if there was difficulty capturing your fingerprints during enrollment. You can check your status online at any time.

TSA requires that airports complete a comprehensive audit of all badges at least once every 12 months, and at least 10% of randomly selected badges every 6 months. If more than 5% of all issued, unexpired badges are lost, stolen, or otherwise unaccounted for, the airport must re-issue badges for all employees.

The RED Badge allows access to the SIDA "Secured. Area" and the remainder of the Airport Operations Area (AOA).

The Airport Badging Solution also features a portal where badge applicants can self-register. This can help lighten the workload for trusted agents, and functions as a management tool for real-time insights and reporting. The solution simplifies badge management from badge creation to badge numbering.

Most applicants receive approval notification in 3-5 days, though some applications can take up to 60 days. Considering this, applicants are encouraged to renew at least 60 days prior to expiry.

When approved to travel with TSA PreCheck®, low-risk travelers will have a smoother experience at the airport security checkpoint. The fastest and easiest way to enroll in TSA PreCheck® is to start the application online.

The online application takes five minutes to complete with the in-person visit taking 10 minutes. During the in-person process, the enrollment provider will collect your biometric data (fingerprints, photo), verify identity documents, and collect payment.

Escorted access is permitted for those who have not been issued a SIDA badge provided they have an acceptable, valid government picture ID and are properly escorted by an individual possessing a valid Airport ID Badge with Escort authority, designated by either an “E” for Escort or an “A” indicating an armed law ...

Who is responsible for ensuring badge applications are accurately completed? ›

Airport operator employees are responsible for ensuring that the badge application is complete with the required biographical and fingerprint data for the STA and CHRC.

Individuals working in Secured/Sterile Areas and other restricted areas of the Airport Terminal and ramp are required to obtain an airport issued Secured Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.

Recent changes to your booking or travel itinerary can flag you up for attention or sharing the same (or very similar) name with someone on the “no fly” or “watch” lists. It could also be completely random - security have a percentage of hand searches that they must carry out each shift.

Travelers would be classified into one of three groups: green for good to go, yellow for investigate further and red for stop from flying.

The main TSA security screening checkpoint is located on level two of the terminal at Salt Lake City International Airport. The checkpoint is open from 3:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Plan on Arriving Early

The TSA recommends to arrive at the airport two hours before a flight's scheduled departure. Allow even more time if traveling with young children, infants, or persons with disabilities.

The Badging and Fingerprinting Office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:30 p.m. (accepting applications until 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and the customer line will be cut off earlier, at our staff's discretion, on high customer volume days).
